I was a little skeptical when ordering, just what we would get. I was pleasantly surprised! It looks great on the window and keeps light and heat from the sun out. We've had over a month of 100 degrees+ and it really has made the living room cooler. I like that I can see out, but you can't really see in. Will be ordering at least two more for new windows. It even came sooner than expected. These shades are nice. They came the exact size needed. My only complaint is the stupid flathead screws that came with it. I was installing into a metal window frame. It was easier to use self tapping screws. The first set that I bought was perfect and installing was easy. The second set, however was not so easy. It appears that the rod was longer than it should have been, making it almost too tight to fit into the window frame. I could have cut the excess aluminum off, but that would also risk damaging the shade itself. It's also disappointing that the bottom of the shade does not have a way to secure it from flapping in the wind. The chains are different colors too, even though the shades are the same color. Shipping was faster than expected though. We are on our 2nd of 11 expected purchases... these are fantastic, cut the glare from west facing windows while providing privacy at dusk... The mounting hardware in uni-directional so you can mount from top or side, so even if you are slightly short on the width, no problem, just mount one bracket, attach the other mount to the roll, mark, and mount it from the top. One suggestion on ordering, (at least from my experience)... they under-cut 1/8" from your net measurement to allow for brackets, but it is still a tight fit. I'm going to order future units 1/4" shorter than the exact measurement so the result will be 3/8" shorter than I measure. There is no problem if the units are a little short, but if they are too long with the brackets added, you can't install them.I bought this shade to block direct sun in my ceramics studio. With my husband's help, we got it installed and it works very nicely, but we had to redrill all the holes when we discovered extra space was required at the top to insert the shade into the brackets. We also had no idea how to adjust the plastic stopping beads so that they would stop the metal chain at the fully open and completely lowered points, so we just broke one off. The shade itself looks well made and does just what I had hoped.I love the email that came asking for specifics so that the blind fit perfectly. I mounted it on the inside of the window frame in our garden window above the kitchen sink. It perfectly blocks the sun when I need it to and even the shadows cast from the stuff in the window is nice. We did have to install it with the non-spring end going in first and then used a credit card to slip in the springy side. I kind of wish I had gotten the chain pull version since I’m worried the bottom of the blinds will get dirty from handling. I’m sure it will clean up easily, though. All in all, super easy and I didn’t have to go shopping for a blind!Great quality. Customer service excellent.Great quality. Great customer service
