This is the second one I have purchased for myself. The first we gave to a friend when we moved. I really missed it. Really nice, sturdy, beautiful. I have purchased these as gifts as well.Looks great! Hard to clean out dead bugs, though! We love this lantern but think this one may be defective as it isn’t as bright as the other one.Elegant look - looks perfect with our deck.Great looking lantern and large size is very nice. Impressive amount of light. For $90+ the solar collector should last longer than 2 seasons. Wisconsin climate and these were pulled in each winter. The hanging brackets have fallen apart many times and required repair. Already replaced batteries once as well.A solar lantern has to be outside to get sun. Right?Well I sat mine in my deck and in no time at all both stopped working. When I checked them out, the entire battery compartment and everything in it was rusty, obviously from water.Something designed to be outside SHOULD have been also waterproof to prevent this. Now they are just pretty, expensive ornaments.I actually redesigned mine by taking a couple of strings of solar fairy lights that I had, took the top off the lanterns, drilled a hole through the lid down low and on the underside of the roof/lid so water wouldn't get in it. Ran the lights through there and wrapped them around and around and around that candle that's supposed to be lighting up. then laid the solar panel for the fair lights now inside the lantern up on the roof of my porch and hung them off the porch on black wrought iron brackets. For the price I gave for the pair of these, I they should have lasted more than a few months, and I should not have had to redesign them with different light system to at least be able to use them and not just be wasted moneyI like them very much. I bought 6 lanterns for my large wooden decking.
